I should've seen this coming. My bad. A clarification is necessary, it seems.
What I had in mind were the very common complaints that the game is crap because the starter accounts are so limited. It's just that your "garbage" statement was recent and I used the same words to express myself. Again, my bad.
EDIT: actually, when I look at your post more closely, you DID comment on the game/business model, NOT gameforge:
Free-to-play is a gameforge hosted european piece of garbage.
It was Artikbot who criticized Gameforge.
Huh, go figure. I guess my criticism applies to you as well, then. Unless you also only failed to express yourself properly.
Anyway, moving on...
Regarding the screw-up... Yeah, that's pretty bad, but I don't actually remember ever seeing an MMO account transfer between companies, that didn't have any issues. Not that I've seen many, mind you. Actually, most, if not all accounts that were opted-in from the NCSoft database were transferred without a hitch; the validation issue applies only to new accounts created during a period when the website was under immense load - that resulted in the game account being created, but not the website/forum/shop account. Thus the rewards couldn't be accessed via the shop, as it wasn't possible to log into the site, though everyone could still play the game.
I think you are a bit too quick to attack GF. I'll reserve my judgement until I see how quickly they get rid of the launch issues. As I mentioned previously, I have pretty much no complaints about the situation inside the game itself.Edited by Hyoketsu - 3/7/12 at 6:09am
