D-Link DIR 600 QoS Engine

Thread Starter
Hello!
I got a brand new d-link dir 600 router which has QoS Engine in it... Weird thing is when I enable it , i lag more than usual in browser games (haxball , minecraft) .. Why? Isn't QoS supposed to prioritize network bandwidth for gaming? I mean that's what it says at the page... It is configurable so maybe i'm doing something wrong ?

Well, when you enable QOS (mostly on default for most routers) it tries to prioritize traffic. But it doesn't do a good job sometimes. I would suggest to either disable it, which will most likely help you out unless you have many users accessing various apps and services. or try to read up on configuring QOS properly in order to work for your situation. I don't feel like its necessary to explain to you how to configure QOS because it is a little lengthy and in the end its quite simple to understand.

Cheers m8
