Sound Support.

Hi Overclock,

I don't know if this is the correct place so sorry if it is not. I have got an AMD Motherbaord ASUS M5A97 PRO and when I turn my PC off I get a funny sound coming out my speakers like a breaking sound it's hard to describe the sound. At first I through it might be my speakers breaking so I tried headphones and other speakers and I was still getting the same sound when turning my PC off.

Anyone know how to fix it or can support me.

Thank Guys:)

If you mean a sort of blowing sound, I have the same issue. It happens for a few seconds while my computer is shutting down or going into sleep.
I think its an issue with Asus motherboards, as both you and I have an AMD socket Asus motherboard. I haven't looked into a fix for it yet, so I'm interested in this too.

Yeah I don't put my PC into sleep so I don't know about that but when I turn my PC off I get a funny sound. My friend said it could be a static build-up but also he said check the IO Plate that the back is not touching any of the top of the sound card. I'm sure it is not a static build up as my PC is dust free and it is on a deck.

If you work out how to fix it I would be very great full if you could help me and tell me how you did it.

Thanks.

The onboard sound is probably going bad. Over time I slowly started to lose low-frequency response on my old ASUS motherboard. A new stand-alone sound card fixed that problem.

Well the motherboard is around 1 month old.

If it has always done it then it's just a turn-on/off thump.
