Actually the easiest way to check your drives firmware version is to read it right of the drives spec label before you even install it. I highly doubt you'll have the latest version 1.04?

Eh, too late to check. I've already flashed to 1.05 and have just installed Windows.

Well it would've been intetresting to see what version they are now shipping with? ... Newegg has that drive @$129, still a heck of a deal even though i think w/rebates it was as low as $100 at some point ... Did you try the USB updating method? ... and as AMD_freak suggested you can run an AS bench to check your "new" updated firmware version, bench speeds, and join the club of very satisfied owners! thumb.gif

You need to be in AHCI mode for your SATA setting. You are currently in IDE.

YES--> Sean's Guide

Make sure you are plugged into your Sata 3/6GB port. But don't expect your speeds to be as high as those of us with Intel chipsets (avg 800/AS SSD bench). With your AMD board I suspect your speeds should be 500-600 overall on the AS SSD bench... but Sean keeps up with all that stuff so post another screenie after you convert to AHCI wink.gif

@996gt2 ... Does 1.05 offer any real benefits over 1.04? ... Nothing in the speed department for me ... but I suspect there are slight improvements in the "Garbage Collection" routines, in other words how your Firmware/Controller manages free space (blocks) and overall NAND wear/degradation.

If you have the patience/time HERE is a good read on how it all works thumb.gif

But as you probably know, that doesn't matter that much, it'll still be verrryyy fast anyways.
