But as you probably know, that doesn't matter that much, it'll still be verrryyy fast anyways.

Yes, even the IDE speeds are 10+ times faster than my old hard drive. Which is good, because I might need to stay with those. after enabling AHCI, it takes forever to boot, then freezes, or hangs on the windows logo at startup and BSODs.

EDIT: Works now for some reason tongue.gif Here's my proof of ownership smile.gif

Actually that score is pretty good thumb.gif ... and as raptorxrx said you will never see any "Real World" difference between a speed of 650 as to the avg of 800 for the 128MB'ers

A couple of reboots or even a CMOS reset will usually cure the IDE-->AHCI hitch and in extreme cases you could re-install windows ... But it looks like your good to go ... feels like a new computer ehhh?

Its terrific biggrin.gif I used to hate when a program needed a restart of my computer, but now, I can restart in like, 30 seconds. I need to time those, see how fast they really are. Does disabling the boot logo-swirly-thing on windows speed up boot times?

Well, all those seconds eventually add up! Nice car BTW. I read through your build log a few hours ago.

Hi all,

Question for Plextor M3 Pro Owners.

Did your drive come in a sealed anti-static baggie or was it not sealed but held with a piece of scotch tape?
I am trying to see if the one I bought (256GB) is brand new or was potentially a return.

Please let me know.
Thanks.
They come the way you received yours. Also, the case part holding the ssd should have been closed with a round seal like sticker.

It was, but it was peeling off on one side, like it was carefully placed back. wink.gif I guess I am just a bit paranoid, heh. I was expecting a sealed static bag. Find it a bit strange they use scotch tape.

Thanks for your answer!
I don't think I've ever gotten a "sealed bag" with any SSD or even HDD for that matter. There may have been a yellow sticker instead of the piece of scotch tape, but the bags were never actually sealed.
