Still a decent price, but it was cheaper yesterday until newegg pretended it went out of stock.

for me the ssd optimization is overwhelming in number

Stuff in my guide under post there here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds#post_15523325

Here is what I do:
  • Disabled Hibernation
  • Page file set to 512MB
  • Install Motherboard Drivers
  • Install newest SATA and chipset drivers
  • Run Windows Update
  • Change power options
  • Run Windows Experience Index Assessment
  • Install virus protection and apps
  • Move user folder locations to Secondary HDD
  • Disabled UAC

thank you so much for your reply sean
less overwhelming optimisation
I think however I will wait till about december hoping m5pro firmware is more mature and possibility of samsung 840
also I can save more
it would be nice if m3 pro dropped down in price as well so I could afford 256gb model
newegg is sold out of m5 pro

No problem. thumb.gif

I'd just grab what ever is on sale when you get a SSD. I personally do not think it is worth it to pay full price on even one of the top drives, unless you have a certain use for it, b/c it is still going to be similar to others.

I bought a Samsung 830 256GB earlier today. Only reason was I got it for $198 (that's including tax). I just couldn't wait any longer, but I'll be back to Plextor one day. smile.gifthumb.gif

Already picked up an M5P, but why does only the 256GB have a "FINAL SALES RETURN POLICY"? I don't think I've ever seen that for anything Newegg item lol
