Hey guys, i heard people saying that the playstation 3d dsiplay isn't compatible with Nvidia 3d vision. I came across this today:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-overview.html

I was wondering if I could play in 3D on my PC flawlessly using this. Also, would I need anything else besised the monitor and 3d glasses that come with it.

i use the p3s 3d tv as my monitor right now, you need to trick the nvidia software into thinking your running one of their supported displays, there's a guide here:

http://blog.bagearon.com/?p=38

you can download the modified inf file and that's all you really need, install nvidia 3dtv play and you're off and running in 3d

it just does 24hz, if the inf file was modified again by somebody who knew what they were doing you should be able to run it at higher hz, basically all that inf file does is trick nvidia into thinking it's a different, supported display, but if it was tricked into thinking the ps3 tv was a different display with closer capability to the features of the ps3 tv, you could probably push it a lot further.

Ok a little off topic. I haven't been able to try the 3d of this display with my pc. When I connect my pc (sli 8800 GTS cards) It shows the resolution on the display as 1024x768. The monitor won't let me change the resolution at all. My pc's resolution set to 1920x1080. The desktop of my pc is huge, If I move the cursor to the edge of the display it pans to the edge of the desktop. If I change the resolution on the pc, I get a black screen and have to restart the computer. ***. I bought this thing to be my pc diplay and play an occational 3d ps3 game. Where am I going wrong? I have my pc connected via dvi to hdmi... please help.... it doesn't make sense

a reviewer here finds it to be a very gorgeous display and the quality to be top notch.its very vfm,i dunno from where these weird conclusions you all are drawing.
