Running two different eyefinity groups is a nightmare and should be avoided. I did that with my three Dell U2410s and two 1080p projectors on the 5000 & 6000 series cards. The monitors were plugged into one card and the projectors in the other. When you selected crossfire you could select which card you wanted crossfire primary on so it was possible to do crossfire with each eyefinity setup. However, eyefinity and crossfire do not like to play nice with any primary card that is not in slot one, so I would always get crashing on the second eyefinity group.

Now fast forward to today. I have four MSI lightnings that I put under water and unfortunately I discovered AFTER the install that card one is dead (see pic). Because Card one is dead, I ran single card eyefinity no problem off of card 4, but the second I connected the power to cards 3 & 2 it would no longer let me use card 4 as the primary and I had to shift everything to card 2.

I setup trifire with cards 2,3& 4 with 2 being the primary and was able to briefly test out things. Unfortunately, the second I tried to change refresh rates AMDs 12.7 driver went into a repeating crash cycle, which even reboots would not fix. So I reinstalled my OS, reinstalled 12.7 & 12.7 cap 3s and tried again...Once again, the second I tried to change refresh rates on my monitors my system went into an endless display driver crash cycle.

Long story short, multi-gpu eyefinity prefers to be in slot one and will not function properly any other way. If you want to run multiple eyefinity configs I suggest you build a second rig or get used to physically swapping your rig between display setups. Otherwise youll drive yourself crazy.

What radiators are you running with your setup? And are you planning to do/doing some mad cooling like TECs or geothermal, or are you just sticking to "standard" watercooling?
Sucks to hear about the dead card, but your setup is pure awesomeness.

I am running this rad in a push pull 18 fan combo. Its an awesome rad, my GPUs top out at 35c under full load...Vega helped me alot when choosing components so perhaps you should spam his PM inbox biggrin.gif

I am quite pleased with the temps from this watercooling setup so I will be sticking with it for a while, but I will be watching vegas geothermal shabang if he ever has the time to get around to it.

It's not a time issue. It's an "I will be moving soon issue". wink.gif Geothermal loop will definitely be a go when I get setup in a new place.

An update on my build: thinking about going in addition to my 8x Vertex 4 LSI RAID0 for programs and games, having 2x Plextor M5 Pro's on the two Intel 6GB ports for Win 7 Ultimate, and getting 64 GB of 2400 MHZ ram for a massive RAMDisk. But that will be almost $3K just in storage and memory, might be going overboard. biggrin.gif

Overboard? I didn't think that you even knew that word biggrin.gif. Also, just noticed you have HD 650s, how do you like them? Does the Xonar power them fine?

What are the pros and cons for a Mora 3 vs 3 seperate rad ?

Do you actually get better temps with the Mora 3? I tried looking on the net but havent seen any answers.

The pros are imo :

Less restriction and cheaper cost

Mora's are optimized for low speed or even passive airflow. As soon as you have decent rpms you'd be better off with other radiators (assuming the same area). They are convenient if you have the space. I use a mora 140.9 with 700rpm fans (for my CPU only) on my workstation and the temps are ridiculously good and almost silent. I could run it passively and still be fine. For the gaming side I use 2x560's and a 360 all with higher speed gentle typhoons. I think it was (maybe) skinnee's review that showed a gtx560 beating a mora at 1500rpm or something similar. If I had more time today I'd dig out the link for you.

So these are great for "silent" pc. Interesting....Might slap 2 of these for my custom case along with undervolted fans instead of 5x SR-1s.

Cheers! thumb.gif

650's are great. Sound is absolutely wonderful in conjunction with the Xonar Essence One. The Xonar is very powerful, I barely have to go above 1/3 volume knob before the 650's get too loud. The 650's are great top of the line headphone for a "reasonable price". To get any sort of substantial upgrade you have to spend $1000+ for headphones.
