He won't have ANY bezels with this project.

This. The freznel lenses is what drew me in to this project (not ignoring the overall bad-assed-ness of the whole thing)

And why did you change your avatar? It was awesome.

Ye I know, but I was asking about his previous setup, with the three 120Hz screens. If it is worth getting an eyefinity setup like that because of the bezels (even if they are very thin) or if I should rather go for a single 2560x1440 display to get a high res without bezels.

This is a hell of a build.
May i ask you if you have pic of your computer set in '' another room''
If you need 25 feet of cable tor each it it msut be somehow far away. tongue.gif
Finally, it should be the most interisting work log ever on OCN.
Easpecially about the geo-thermal cooling.
My father was a military pilot also ( but he passed away now...) Respect to you Vega you do a beautiful work in both army and computer mod.

Thanks for the kind words.

On my previous minimalist bezel LCD setup, the gaps were so small that it didn't bother me at all. I am going with CRT's as they are king for gameplay and motion. You must remember all 2560x1440 displays have quite slow pixel response times. They have massive blur in games. So it is up to you if you want to attempt a 120Hz Eyefinity/Surround setup to keep 120Hz. I would personally use my 3x 120Hz portrait setup hands down versus a single 60Hz 2560x1440.

Monitor supports done, testing setup before working on the Fresnel lens frames/brackets. New keyboard tray mounted to desk.

My actual resolution in 3x1 portrait is 3840x1920 (bezel managed 3x 1200P) exacly 2:1 and I'm really loving it. I've had another set of 3x1050P panels all of then portrait capable but never wished to try portrait, never before your triple 120hz... Well I like it so much i decided to do the bezel mod (and my monitors have yet 4.5 years of waranty left) I really don't mind to damage my 2:1 ratio, acually I really want to reduce it by reducing as much as possible the bezels in my case I'll go from 28mm to 8mm bezels. Another nice thing about portrait is that I'm liking it with the three panels without any angle so I'll just wall mount then with 3 x $12 vesa wall mount supports.

@update... are those bricks? the fresnel support will add stability to the overal structure? I know those things are heavy but this way it isn't inspiring confidence at first sight. Another thing, how you deal with the ergonomic factor of over eye line monitors. I have reduced drastically my horizontal head tilt but the vertical tilt had increased vastly. Add to that the weight of an D2000 over my head for 8h+ when I'm reading it really starts to sore...

Wow you are quite brave balancing a heavy monitor like the FW900 on only 3 bricks eek.gif I'm guessing you are working on a more permanent mounting system along with the fresnel frame. Seeing all 3 monitor on the table like that really substantiates how massive this build is. Looking forward to the first pics with the lenses on biggrin.gif
