Going to NY in a month

Thread Starter
I am going to NY and DC in a month and I was wondering if there is anything I should get for my camera before then. I current have a Sony Nex-5n with the stock 18-55mm lens. I have a remote for it and 2 spare batteries, as well as a 32GB SanDisk Extreme Memory card.

I was planning on buying this Rokina/Samyang 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye for the trip as I don't think the stock lens is wide enough (for me at least), one more 32GB SanDisk card and maybe a couple more batteries for the trip. But is their anything else I mite need?

The charger for the batteries???

Just kidding tongue.gif

Or maybe a flexible tri-pod... You can curl/bend it around somthing to take a picture (just be sure its strong enough to hold the weight of your camera)

http://i28.tinypic.com/fm4e2v.jpg

Or maybe a simple one-pod. Just to take a quick shot (and don't have the time to set the tri-pod or else the action you want to shoot is gone...)

I have one like this for my movie-camera...

Of course I have a charger tongue.gif

I actually have two gorilla pods, but a mono-pod could be useful. Thanks for that suggestion smile.gif

Any suggestions on a rain cover for my camera? just something inexpensive that works, doesn't have to be super durable

True, but I just tried a ziplog baggy a week ago and I had a hell of a time taping the hole I made to the lens cap. And then it fogged up. I would prefere a purpose built rain sleeve with a lens hole the I could attach with Velcro or something since my lens isn't water resistant
