First video card I ever owned was a Radeon 7500, which I threw into a PII Dell Optiplex. Good times

Favorite video card would have to be my GTX 580

First was, IIRC, a Rage Pro. Favorite... probably 8800GT.

My first card was a Rendition Verite V2200 8mb. It was released after the 3Dfx Voodoo 1 and before the Voodoo 2. It KILLED the Voodoo1 except for the lack of Glide (API) support. I spent ages researching it and was so proud when it ran everything smooth as butter. Dark Forces II Jedi Knight on this was as memorable as gaming comes. Also beastly was playing through Quake and Quake 2 in gorgeous 3D glory. Those were the days ... until the show stopper. This card made Half Life the best game of all time for me. Running at 800x600 smooth was, at the time, simply mind-blowing - coming from a 486 DX or SX 25 to this was just unbelievable. Computer addiction: activated.

My Geforce 2MX took me through some classic gaming moments, and my ATI Radeon 5770 which I bought in the first month after its released was pure-awesomeness, but my favourite card of all would have to be my 128mb Radeon 9700m in a laptop I had that was as good as most any desktop released at the time, and cost a small fortune. It took me backpacking around the world and kept me sane whilst volunteering in 3rd world impoverished Cambodia for months at a time, playing Star Wars KOTOR 1/2, Far Cry and the classic GTA 3 series. This card meant more to me than any other. Period.

Before:
321

Througout the year:
700
These are mine and my bro's cards from last year.

Now:
450

I think I went from:
Voodoo2 -> Integrated graphics? -> 9800Pro -> 6800GT -> X1900XT -> 9800GT -> HD4870 -> HD5850 -> HD6970 (might go to nVidia again who knows rolleyes.gif )

I did find an S3 Virge in my box somewhere but I don't remember using that...
