Gpu crashing will in battlefield 3

Thread Starter
hey,

so i have a gtx 560ti superclock and i overclock it to 965/1930/2200 at 1.112v, did a furmark test for 15min, ran 3dmark11 (full experience) and Heaven DX11 Benchmark 2.5 full setting. the overclock was stable with all of these test never failed once.

Now when i play battlefield 3, sometime i play like 2 matches than bf3 shutdown and my computer freezes, i have to close bf3 in task manager than i'm good after that. Do u think its my overclock thats not stable or could it be bf3 that's bug up and crashing?

Run Furmark for an hour and see if it crashes.

It could be that BF3 is buggy, which it is, but do an hour long Furmark to make sure

15min is nothing. use OCCT or furmark and stress the card for at least 4 hours.
Also for your cpu and ram, make sure you run a prime 95 with the custom setting and for the amount of memory used set it so it will max your ram out. So if you 4gb if ram, set it to like 3400mb

Also are you using the new nvidia driver that was just released?

My cpu overclock and ram were already tested for 24 hour and they were ok... it doesnt always do it sometime i can play for a full day and it doesnt crash, but someday like today started a game and like 15min after it crashed.

I've had OCs on 2 different cards pass every stability test I ran only to crash in BF3. Just sayin.

I would try OCCT with error checking on. If you get errors then your cards not stable. Furmark is good but its more of a temp stress program.

Using Furmark for stability testing is like testing an axe's sharpness on a rock. Useless and won't produce reliable results.

BF3 has stability issues with GTX560Ti's overclocked.
Had mine at 950Mhz and it ran other games (Skyrim, Batman AA) flawlessly but crashed in BF3.
One remedy is reverting to stock GPU clocks and that means 822Mhz/2001Mhz.

ya well mine is the superclock so really it 900mhz stock, so really my overclock is just a slight one since its at 960mhz, but what i find weird is that it doesnt always crash sometime its good and sometime its not, maybe its just bf3
