The fed/state assistance actually exists and works. Americans should only complain about country music and NASCAR being popular. I just don't get it, don't mean to be rude, but your comments really make me angry.

You just re-enforced what I wrote. Most Americans could not afford what they have without credit. Atleast half of all Americans purchase an auto with a loan. If America did not have a credit system it would die out quickly. Most major store purchases are done through financing.

Yes. Like iPad. a good percentage of Americans can or could not afford an iPad without credit. The same goes for China. Hopefully you know Apple is extremely popular in China and millions can afford Apple products in China. It is a 50/50 in both countries. Some can afford it and some cannot afford it. And believe it or not, most of those Faxcon workers can afford an iPad if they saved up for a few months. Saving up for something just means you have to wait a little longer and make sacrifices, but learning to save pays off in the long run.

In my area we have homeless vets and others in much worse situation then the Foxcon workers in China. China is in a development stage, once they build a super comsumer base, they will be right where the US is or further along...

I agree. This country is built up on non-existant money.

Wow, Apple's Foxconn workers have suicide nets outside their windows. What more needs to be said?

Hopefully Chinese wages skyrocket and standard of living increases so they stop undercutting the manufacturing base of the rest of the world, especially the USA.

Remove the credit/finance system and fed/state aid systems for low income from countries like the US and you will see the light. You will see that a good percentage of Americans could not afford a generic iPad, never mind the real thing. They would be lucky if they could afford an echasket after cost of living...

they need to hire this lady, lmao.

if they made soo much and they can't do a simple thing of budgeting then they deserve it. its very simple, if your rich, you can have option A,B, and C. if your poor, you can only choose one, no one told them to try and choose 2 or 3.

the issue is people want everything when they know they can only have 1 thing. a worker at foxxconn with double the income they have and lets say they have 0 expenditures (meaning they don't need to eat/shelter/entertain) could still not afford the iphone for a long while. while the american could get it probably in 1-2 months of work after tax deductions. the credit americans apply for is irrelevant, they did that to themselves trying to buy a mercedes on a 30k annual salary job and still wanted a iphone too.

Comparative to pricing in China itself, the wages aren't as terrible as we imagine. Think of it like this: the costs of living in NY, Chicago, LA will be more than living in say, Podunk North Dakota. Similarly, the cost of food, rent, basic necessities is very very low there. When I was there, it cost me less than .02c in BEIJING to get a full breakfast. Yes, 2 cents.

The crazy part that we cannot fathom, for some unknown reason, is that local economy money =/= international. In LA, an icecream could cost you $1-2... but that same ice cream will cost .50-.75c in Podunk. See what I'm getting at?

Do not get me wrong, I am not advocating in any way what is going on here. All I'm saying is that those tiny wages are actually pretty damn good and those people WANT those jobs more than anything in the world because they are high paying where they come from (Podunk).

Ya dig?

Also, F Apple.

These people did not look exceptionally sad,in 90' many people from Eastern went to work for low wages to UK, IRL, but they come back, and they was able to live better than ordinary citizens. China has a large, prices in one side can be very different from the other side of China.Everything depends on where the money is being spent.

sorry my english

Honestly it really doesn't look like that awful a place to work. Not saying I would want to but for a lot of people (obviously looking at their recruiting event) it's a good job.

They want to get recruited because they have no jobs themselves. But the thing that caught my attention was that Foxconn would employ most of that crowd (according to that article). That to me doesn't sound bad at all. Over here in the states, many people want work but not alot of businesses have positions to give out even at minimum wage to a tremendous amount of people like that.
