So - I stopped in at Fry's and picked up the M5A97 as suggested. My receipt looks funny as heck after 3 exchanges in 3 days. It looks like everything is going to be fine now...but I did run in to one issue. I had to switch the SATA ports to IDE Mode instead of the AHCI mode. System would BSOD on windows load until I did that. Guess it has to do with how Windows was originally installed right?

Anyway...thanks again for all the help

Yes, if Windows was originally installed on a board running in IDE mode, the next board must also run it that way or fail to boot, unless you undergo special procedures.  It's a problem on any setup.
