The guide is available here.

How did you apply even pressure to each screw on the RayStorm? Did you use a digital caliper or something else? The RayStorm has an inaccurate way of fastening the screws, unlike the EK LGA 2011 mount in which the thumbscrew stops turning when each screw is fastened down enough.

By the way, very impressive build log.

That's news to me... I just kept screwing in a cross pattern until they wouldn't go any tighter via hand. Haven't powered it on yet but I hope that'll be okay. That's what the instructions said anyway wink.gif

Thanks for your kind words. I'm really irritated I have to wait 3 weeks until I get back to it but that's life...mad.gif

Thanks for your kind words. I'm really irritated I have to wait 3 weeks until I get back to it but that's life...mad.gif

The XSPC instructions are poor in that regard, that is knowing when equal mounting pressure for each side is obtained. I think Martinm210 commented on this as well when he reviewed the RayStorm. If I decide to custom water-cool and use the RayStorm, I'll buy something like this:

http://www.buy.com/prod/carrera-precision-cp8806-t-6-inch-digital-caliper-titanium-series/216376771.html
500

What you've got is probably fine. For me I wouldn't be sure if one side was fastened down further than the other sides. The digital caliper helps me get the spacing correct between each screw, meaning the pressure should be the same. The EK kit is great, as you keep tightening until the thumbscrews stop - however - the XSPC is the top block for performance.

Those three weeks will go by in no time.

You've got some nicely sleeved cables back there, and some that are just bare. What gives?

May I make a recommendation? Use DangerDen black re-usable tubing clamps instead of those monstrosities! thumb.gif

Cant wait to see how this progresses.
