Defrag at Idle only?

Evening all

Im looking for some recomendations for a disk defrag program that i can configure exactly as i want.
I want it to ONLY defrag and access my disks during screensaver or an idle period.

I have reccently tried o&o and it does have a function to defrag/optimize during screensaver when my pc is idle but im sure it was also accessing my drives periodically for some reason, perhaps checking something.
I record videos with Fraps onto my 1tb drive, with no defrag program installed recording was smooth as butter

but with o&o installed my videos recorded very jumpy and im sure this is down to o&o monitoring my disk even when set to not defrag until idle/screensaver.

I want a defrag program that not gona keep checking my drives while im in the middle of recording,as i say since removing o&o my videos record smooth with no hitching as the only thing accessing the 1tb drive is Fraps.

So,must be able to configure to run at idle/screensaver and have no background instances periodically checking , querying or using any drive other than the drive it runs from which is my SSD.

Is there one out there?

Use CC every night on the drive you record to. I don't think your going to find a program to do exactly what you what.

Defraggler by piriform (The same folks who make CCleaner)

You can set the program to run at custom periods such as while idle.

Smart Defrag is pretty good.

You can set it up for auto defrag and other options, and pretty straight forward. It's free as well.

Defragmenting doesn't really wear them out. It decreases the number of seeks done. If your drive constantly has to seek to 500 different locations to read something, that will wear it out. But collecting all those pieces (500 seeks, but only once) and then sticking it in one strip? Seems to me that'd be a reduction in seeks over time. That should increase its lifespan.

(Obviously my amounts are just for example; I've seen Outlook Express inboxes (on Windows XP) that are in 40,000 fragments.

But most people only have files fragmented into a few hundred pieces...)
