Your phone doesn't have 4G. That's the Galaxy Nexus LTE and not the Galaxy Nexus. Your phone is running Faux-4G thats the HSPA+, its not really 4G. That's why it says H and not 4G. You could mod it to say 4G if you really want. 1st get on AOKP and then look in the 'Galaxy Nexus Theme Forum' on http://rootzwiki.com. There is mod to make it say whatever you want, LTE 4G (Verizon icon), 4G (stock ICS icon), and some other HSPA+ icons that I really didn't look at because I have the Galaxy Nexus LTE. Rootzwiki is better for AOKP stuff than XDA is. Also AOKP has it own website now http://forum.aokp.co/

When I had my Galaxy Nexus the the reception was awful. I really liked the phone but the CDMA and LTE radios in them were really bad. With my Droid RAZR I had 4 bars at home and LTE but when I got my Nexus I had 1 3G bar and never saw LTE. Now I have the Rezound and I have 4G at home again. I'm not in a super strong 4G area so my 4G is iffy but it's signification faster than Verizon's slow 3G.

there should be a place in about phone where it tells you what type of network connection you are currently receiving (i.e. UTMS or HSPA). If your phone is displaying "3g" but in the about phone section yo're showing "HSPA", then there really isn't a need to worry at this point because it's just a cosmetic issue.

But if that area is saying "UTMS", then i don't know where to begin to solve the problem.

That's because the Galaxy Nexus shows actual signal, and the Droid RAZR doesn't. Really that "super strong 4G" is actually super strong 3G. Moto, Apple, HTC, and everyone else does this. Is it really a shock that carriers want you to think they are "more bars in more places" when really there isn't? They exaggerate about signal strength and 3G to 4G connectivity. The only one who doesn't do this is the Nexus. Read this and Google it they're many tests proving this. So many people have said this is a problem that Verizon Galaxy Nexus is going to fixed by making it display more bars because it does not having signal problems. Thanks people now my Galaxy Nexus is going to be more carrier like...
