I agree that WoW has, over time, because a more and more graphically intense game. Over the years, my SLi 8800 GTS 640's slowly began to hinder in performance, but I don't think a 480 is a good call in a $600 build. I vote for a 6790. I just bought a 6770 for a backup build and I'm not very impressed. I regret not upgrading to a 6790 for the 256-bit memory. That should have no problems on WoW at all.
Edit: A more powerful GPU requires a more powerful PSU >>> more dollhairs ($$$$$)

GTX 480 is great if he can fit it in the budget. As for PSU performance...I'm running a GTX 470 OCed (And OVed) with an Oced tricore and an extra 175w GPU on a 600w PSU, a 430w PSU would be more than enough with the i3.

My 5770 will be apart of their build and the 480 will be for me and my 750 watt PSU biggrin.gif
my sister is a mild gamer but her boyfriend is the WoW addict.
Oh and by the way guys I will be making a build log as soon as I get free time. I am supposed to be writing a section of our annual business report for FBLA right now.
A teaser on the log:
The side panels will be laser engraved with wow artwork!!
Soo much I can do! I get the parts next week and I get until June(Maybe sooner) to complete the build!

Good luck with the build! I am eager to see how it performs, specifically that 5770. I recently picked up a 6770 to pair with a 955, but I haven't tested it in any games yet.
