motorsportcfd - I love these, especially 31 and 175.jpg - really sharp!

Sean - 160 is immense, an amazing overload of detail, 210 is too dark for me but then so was my 3rd shot - a challange this is!!thumb.gif

any of those shot with your EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM? I used my 50mm EF II and wasn't to impressed with its sharpness...

I get that it is too dark or underexposed, but it was exactly like that when I took the picture lol, it was dark out due to the overcast.

I'll take some soon with it and let you know, i haven't used it much lately. I am seeing how hard it is to do this, especially since I haven't left the house much lately. haha.

Sorry mate, wasn't meant to crticise to offend, I can be pretty cold at times when I do that, I go into supercritque mode. personally I'd have exposed for the tree not the sky but it's preference after all, the sky is nice though so I might have look to take t/3 exposures and merged or get a filter.

I know what you mean, I'm doing a personal project of one photograph a week which is forcing me to take more photographs (life just isn't lending itself right now to productivity) - joining this f/11 challange stretches me thinner I feel but i think it's going to make me a better photographer, especially with the competition on here smile.gif - the main reason I asked about the 70/200 is that I have one and wondered if you'd used it. Interested how you get on though.

Leave your "Rate the Photo Above You" experience behind. I will be very strict about reporting childish replies or commentary on technical qualities beyond the scope of this challenge, as they have no place in this thread.

Please, try and remember why this challenge exists. You guys can go talk about minor exposure issues in the rate the photo above you thread, but keep it out of here.

I think I'm doing it wrong.

Actually, this was my first foray into long exposures and obviously, I did it wrong. Luckily I took it in RAW and this is what I was able to extract from the file in Photoshop. Mind you, this was around 4:30pm at a College.

This is one of my very few I've shot above f/11. What pictures I thought I set a higher f-stop on, ended up only around f/5.

400
Set at f/22, with a Canon 1D mkII N and a 50mm f/1.4 lens, needed this for a photography project for school, shooting something with the smallest aperture your camera could go.

Symmetry by laboitenoire, on Flickr

Out visiting my sister in Urbana this week, and this was what I saw when I looked up in the carillon on campus.

Not perfectly centered, but it doesn't bother me enough to go back and reshoot.
