So it is done then. :/

I got a question...

So, if computer sales slow, do prices go up?

I'm thinking it's probably time to get a boat load of RAM all of a sudden, yes?

Here is a good deal on some 1333 MHz DDR RAM @ 7 Latency!

Yes. Cos there will be less product to satisfy hunger of market = prices going up. However if all of us will just jump to buy loads of ram we may wind up prices even greater... I'm lucky guy cos ive bought 12gb ram even before there was fisrt news about elpida problems.

and out goes the good RAM company, going to miss those elpida hyper chips.....

I don't think that prices will go up that dramatically. Elpida only had a 12% market share. According to the article, Samsung and Hynix controls a combined 67% of the market. Prices may go up, but we've had it easy when it comes to ddr3, they've been uber cheap for a while now. Besides, you had to expect ddr3 to go up soon since ddr4 is up and coming. Probably the worst of it will be the starting price of ddr4.

I just bought ram recently, now I'm thinking to stock up. I'll pick the high capacity rather than performance.even if ddr4 are about to come I don't think it will come early. so many change must made to achieve it and it need work from all computer part maker.
