Concept cars almost never look just like the production ones.

I'll take my 302 cubic inches of adrenaline straight to my heart before I spend 50K+ on a vehicle in which the most expensive part is the battery.

I got a 302 in my Explorer rocking the 13 MPG in hilly city stop and go traffic, 8-10 if it's towing anything. If I want MPG my 600cc powerhouse takes care of that. Once they get a new energy source that works then I'll give thought to it when I can afford it.

Engine sound will be missed, but holding onto combustion engines just for vanity is superficial. I will be happy to drive a vehicle using nuclear fusion reactors and dilithium crystals.

is not just for vanity. the internal combustion engine is a very efficient in making power without any interuptions. find me a battery car that can do what a formula 1 car can do without having to be recharged every 2 minutes.

The first combustion engine was beaten by a horse hauling a carriage. Give time for technology to develop. The fact is oil will become a resource that will become too expensive to use as a power source in the future.

The first combustion engine, yes.

The first production car, absolutely not.

This technology has been around forever. I'm not understanding how people think this is some new breakthrough. It's ancient, and without some brilliant new battery technology, is going to continue to be stagnant.

Go any other alternative fuel direction (except ethanol), as long as it's running as fast as we can away from electric cars.

I also don't see why we aren't exploring diesel more. TDI's are very clean, sound great, and is great on gas.
