All you have is the public ip. You still need the keyfile to ssh into those instances. Unless there's a way to gain access without the keyfile and get root shell.

The reason for key files is so you can't brute force into root.

lol, I missed this somehow, yeah I left it for all IPs as I wanted to be able to monitor it wherever I went. Between my place, my fiancees and travel I figured it would be easier to just leave it at all.
