Will I need an active displayport adapter for this setup?

Thread Starter
I am setting up a triple monitor setup for a friend, and I don't know if I need an active mini displayport to DVI adaptor or a non-active mini displayport to DVI adapter.

My friend just ordered up this video card:

225

My friend has 2 monitors each with displayport, but his 3rd monitor only has DVI. So he's either going to need an active mini displayport to DVI adaptor or a non-active mini displayport to DVI adapter.

I don't know if the video card comes with any mini displayport adapters.

You need MiniDP-to-DVI adapter (Max res 1920x1200) for the third monitor which has no native DisplayPort input. The difference is only around $10 from passive, just get the active adapter.

Accell Ultra AV Mini Display Port to DVI-D Single Link Active Adapter.

Accell Mini DP - DVI-D Apdater

And you need MinDP-to-DP cable because it doesn't come with the card.
