With the GTX480 you'll get better Tessellation support and better frames. Nuff said biggrin.gif

thanks for your input guys...actually just checked out reviews and most reviews only show an improvement of 7-10 frames/sec in most games...for a 50 dollars more and 100 watts more...im having 2nd thoughts

The improved Tessellation support is worth the upgrade for $50 alone. I have a friend with a 6990 and he complains all the time when most games with moderate to heavy Tessellation max out his card and cause frequent dips below 30FPS whereas one of my cards will run those games no problem. If anything the convenience of the minimum FPS jumps over your 6870 will be worth it.
