Definitely! In the past, CPU Magazine included a new reader mod which graced the front cover of the magazine every month. Now, the last couple of issues have featured big name companies on the front cover of the magazine, such as Intel and Enermax, touting their new products.
For example, in the March 2012 issue of CPU Magazine, Intel showcases their newest SSD lineup on the front cover of the magazine, with the associated page number, in this case, page 14. If you go to the page, you'll see the SSD spread, and in the corner margin of the "article", you'll see the word "Advertisement". Dont believe me? Check it out yourself:
It's a bit sketchy in my opinion because CPU Magazine makes it look like they wrote the article on Intel's newest SSD lineup. But in reality, it's just a marketing blurb written up by Intel and included in the magazine with the product prominently displayed on the front cover.
I find this slightly annoying because it did away with the customary reader mod that's always been front and center on the cover of the rag. Nevertheless, CPU Magazine remains one of my favorite PC rags to read, more so than Maximum PC.
I'll be honest, I have yet to pay for a CPU Magazine subscription for the last 2-3 years. I usually wait for this deal to go "live" and I just renew. It's always worked for me this way.
Anyhow, thanks to all that repped, I really appreciate it!
