AMD Athlon 64 3600+ (Brisbane core) AM2 CPU.

This is a heck of a little CPU. When it came out people were getting 3.0ghz out of this (1.9 stock) with decent boards. Best I got was 2.8, but this was when I first started OC and was with a mediocre board, so it may do better.

2 gigs (2x1) NANYA DDR2 800. Just some basic DDR2 RAM. Never tried overclocking it so no idea. Used in a HTPC for about 2 years at stock speeds.

I'm thinking about upgrading. I have a DFI Ultra-D and according to the chart, this should fit my 939 board. Just so I have a piece of mind, can u verify that it will fit a 939 board. DFI tech says all the way up to AMD Athlon X2 4800 will work, but any thing I look up about AM2 chips says they won't fit 939 boards.
Also, would this be an actual upgrade? I have my opteron 170 OC'ed to 2.5 (w/ 4GB ram) and 2.7 (w/2GB ram), and all I can find out is an opteron 185 is the best chip to have.
