Ok im letting go of my quad Sli gtx 295s an looking at a new Sli or tri Sli setup. Now what would be a faster setup? With my cards sold I can pick up 2 GTX480s or 3 GTX 470s so what will me faster? Im not worried about heat an at the current prices the 4xx is what I want.

THANKS.

Tri sli 470s would be faster but with the crux of having such a relatively small amount of VRAM for the GPU power available to them. Just so you know rumors put Kepler (the next GPUs from Nvidia) at releasing withing the next two months or less so if possible it might be a good idea to not spend quite so much money on GPUs now when fairly soon your money may get you much more performance. So what I would probably do is either hold on to your 295s for the next 6 weeks or so and see how Kepler does and upgrade then, or if you really want to change GPUs now then I would just get two 470s as they shouldn't be difficult to resell in 2 months without losing a whole lot if you choose to upgrade to Kepler. SLI 470s would be about as fast as quad 295s when the 295s are scaling well so it wouldn't be a huge upgrade but it also shouldn't cost much after selling your 295s.
