Higher CPU temps in UEFI are normal because the cpu isn't in idle state when you mess around in UEFI... you can check your real temps with any decent monitoring program in your OS but I still have to agree that stock Intel cooler doesnt really provide much cooling potential biggrin.gif

He is correct. Under load you should be getting around 80C or so perhaps even higher with that crappy stock heatsink. They only work well for low power dual cores, for the quad cores they completely suck. Don't worry about temps, your fine up to high 80's. Completely normal. Just get that new heatsink installed tomorrow. thumb.gif

HA, the foxman gets foxy... You just gave me an idea hauss, I went in & knocked er back to 2 cores, now she's sittin @ 47°C... Two cores is plenty for what I'll be doin tonight...

I never understood why people say that BIOS temperatures are a lot higher than idle temperatures, in my case, BIOS temperatures and windows idle temperatures are exactly the same (26c-30c)

Just for reference I overclocked my 2600k to 4ghz on the stock cooler and highest temp I got was 78 degrees. Hope this helps.
