Hey guys, i m beginner to overcloking so i came here to ask some questions:

My goal is to overclock my prosessor from 2.66ghz to 3.2ghz and my ram from 1333mhz to 1600mhz.
I hope i gave you guys enough infromation to help me. biggrin.gif

So this is my plan:

The plan:

CPU Clock = 2666.6 Mhz to 3.200 Mhz
CPU Multiplier = 8x
CPU Rated FSB = 1333 Mhz to 1600 Mhz
CPU FSB = 333.3 MHz to 400 Mhz
Memory Bus = 666.7 MHz to 800 Mhz
DRAM:FSB Ratio = 2:1
Memory clock mode = Linked
Memory Channel = Dual Channel
Memory Timings = 9-9-9-24 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)

Bios Settings:

Cpu Spread Spectrum = Disabled
Limit CPUID MaxVal = Disabled
Enchanced C1 (C1E) = Disabled
CPU C State Caoability = Disabled
Enchanced Intel Speedstep = Disabled
Loadline Calibration = Enabled
Memory Timing Settings = Auto

First of all, welcome to OCN smile.gif

Secondly, take a moment to fill out your computer specs in the Rigbuilder. It's in the upper right hand corner next to your user name. The more we know about your computer the better, and although I got the specs from the last screenshot you posted, it'll make things easier for you now and in the future.

Finally, it looks like you have a pretty good idea of what to do, now it's just a matter of executing. nVidia chipsets have a hard time reaching good 24/7 clocks, but the Striker never suffered from that. Just do your best to keep that 1:1 ratio with the FSB/DRAM for the best performance possible.

Hey, thanks for your quick answer!
I already filled all specs in the Rigbuilder and uploaded pictures of my parts and my rig there.
Yea, i tried to give you guys as much information as i could.
So is my plan right decision for beginner overclocker?, i want to start clocking with pretty low oc:s bcz you know i m a newbie biggrin.gif

If I remember correctly that board could handle 2000 FSB (rated, 500 before QDR) as long as the hardware was up to the task. The limits will be that of the CPU and RAM. Don't push your vCore past 1.36 and watch your temps. 1600 shouldn't be an issue as long as the CPU is up to it. Good luck smile.gif

Hey thanks for your guidance, i just overclocked my processor from 2.66ghz to 2.8ghz
My Rated FSB is now 1400 Mhz, Cpu FSB 350 Mhz and Memory BUS 700mhz. But i noticed my Vcore inceased from 1.344 V to 1.360 V because The Asus Loadline Calibration feature what sets CPU voltages automatically. So should i be worried or someting because you said not to push vcore past 1.36 V?
Should i disable that feature from bios and set my vcore manually to 1.360 V?

Maximum temperature for your CPU shouldn't go over 74 degrees. Keep an eye on that and run Prime95 or Intel Burn Test (google them). Turn off any automatic overclocking tools and keep it set manually at 1.36. Your idle temps seem a little high but that could be a sensor issue, which is why we're only concerned with load temps. Try pushing for 1500 at 1.36 and then run a stress test, check temps and keep going up from there.

Thread Starter
Thx for information, those all temps are from the last System Load Test at 2,66 Ghz and from now with 2,8 Ghz, So there wasnt any idle tempratures biggrin.gif
Idle tempratures are pretty much same when my prosessor was runing at 2,66 Ghz. maybe 1 or 2 degree higher.
And that Loadline Calibration isnt really automatic overclock tool, i think it just helps overclockers to ensure more stable and optimal cpu voltage.
And i noticed my cursor freezed or warped sometimes, or when i was typeing this reply noticed words came little bit with delay? Can it mean my overclock isnt stable?
Even i ran Aida64 System Load Test for 20mins with no problems or overheating.

"Loadline Calibration

Maintaining ample voltage support for the CPU is critical during overclocking. The Loadline Calibration ensures stable and optimal CPU voltage under heavy loading. It helps overclockers enjoy the motherboard´s ultimate OC capabilities and benchmark scores."

Am i right?
By the way i m sorry because i m asking so much stuff from you, i just like to learn ^^

Quads on NForce can be tricky. You need to be ready for FSB holes and sometimes instability that just doesn't seem to respond to any tweaking.

All you can do is keep tuning and see how it goes.

I like to have LLC (loadline calibration) enabled for 775 overclocks. NForce OCs better with memory unlinked in my experience.

Use OCCT for your short-term CPU testing. Move on to other tests later.

Thanks for info! biggrin.gif
Shall i try with unlinked Rated FSB 1500 mhz? and with 1.288 V VCORE?
Because intel manufacture processors to meet with certain TDPs, not with clock frequencies, so this model is no different from its higher clocked cousins, only difference is locked multiplier and less cache, so i could oc to 3.2 Ghz with no prob?

Tried overclock my cpu from 2,66ghz to 3,2ghz and my ram from 1333mhz to 1600mhz as unlinked, but it didnt work. Comp didnt want to boot into windows and posted my cpu speed as 1,57 Ghz?
I went to bios and i set default settings and then rebooted comp after that comp booted into windows. Can someone tell me what i m missing?
