Adding to the long list of “I can’t believe they said that” comes this statement from SCEW’s VP during this interview. Saying that people in Europe don’t mind getting the shaft all the time because they are used to it is insane. I got an idea, how about launching there first for a change?
European consumers have shown that historically they don't mind that, because they end up buying as many PlayStations, if not more, than the US and Japan. In Europe, it doesn't seem that the release of our platforms after the US and Japan - in the long run - affects how consumers feel.
|Wow. Is this another self-evident own-goal for Sony's catastrophic PR machine? Could well be. The fact that people buy PlayStations after delays doesn't mean they're not cheesed off, just that they still want one. Sony appears to care for nothing but its own bottom line, which won't sit well with hardcore gamers, who are swiftly losing interest in the Sony platform, especially given the WiiSixty Christmas that is on the horizon.|
