IIRC you might still be able to get the worst big -bigadv WUs without the core hack (6901s). I know that I got one on my 8-vCPU HPCS instance once without the core hack.

Guess I'll go ahead and give it a try. Thanks.

Ok I still can't figure this out but I need to track Projects better. Is there a specific one that does not work with the Nvidia GPU's? I can fold all day long on my 560's then they will randomly stop picking up new ones with 0xfffffff. I reboot the machine and it runs fine...

What I really need to do but have not figured out yet is to look at the projects to see if they are always the same ones failing. And if it changes after reboot?

If you are on the newest nVidia drivers and you let your display go to sleep, it won't pick up a new work unit and you have to restart the client. You can avoid this by going back to the 290s or by disabling putting the display to sleep in your power saving options.

i got past that one, I have it set to never turn off my display. I get this error on every version of the drivers though which is the part I don't understand. The error I got with the 295.73 version is they went to a failed state mid fold and went red in V7. They always complete now just won't start new ones. Well not always.. its random if it can start new ones so I'm still baby sitting it.

I did find something on google about Avast V6 upgrade to V7 causing some issues but didn't get time to look into it more.

If it's failing in the middle of a work unit, is it an UNSTABLE_MACHINE error?

I only had that happen once on one WU while testing over clocks. Those have since been removed. The second WU finished fine with the OC failure. What I'm getting now is a picking up a new WU and then rejecting it. When I get home I'll paste part of the log. This is while I'm at the machine watching it.
