Hmmm... That's a weird problem then. You may be on to something about it being a software conflict.

Looked at building a folding machine but hey add up fast to get a 4P machine. is there any pre built ones? lol How does the power consumption on them compare to say the i5 2500k and 2 video cards?

I was also looking at this, there is a guy on OCN selling 4 opterons for 850, but a mobo is around the same price! Then memory and a beefy PSU and your talking the 2k range.

So I've gotten my 2600k stable at 4900 @ 1.54v. It would probably be stable at a bit less. I can fold for a few hours at 5000 MHz at 1.54 but it will bluescreen.

So. Probably too offtopic for here. Any suggestions how how to squeeze that tiny bit out without increasing vcore? Is that even possible? If I push it any higher than 1.54 i get a CPU over voltage bios warning on boot. Temps are fine, sitting at 62c with cpu alone, and 67c with cpu and gpu maxed out.

You could always change the base clock a couple ticks, you will most likely have the same stability and get an all around over clock for your computer.

If your at 100 right now (which I assume you are) give 102-103 a shot, but DO NOT go above 104 because you can cause some real issues thumb.gif . This clock will bump up your PCI-E, RAM, and Core clocks!

I'm going to give mine a bump tonight tongue.gif

ah yeah good point. I've been meaning to get around to playing with that but completely forgot about it. Still would be nice to get a stable 5.0, but I don't think my processor is good enough. I think i can set the board to allow overvoltage to remove the warning, but would like to avoid that for no particular reason. Just a shame, it's soooo damn close. 4 hours at 5.0 it probably only needs another .02 or so. Well if I can get to 103 that will do it. 102 will be 2 short

edit: well at 103 it will boot. 5049 MHz and ram at 2200. Now to see if it will be stable.

Booting is a good sign! Fingers crossed for stability.

I think my brother tripped a breaker or something, I didn't complete 1 WU for 3pm today. He is already lowering my PPD...
