Ok, that all sounds reasonable - I'll test each adapter individually, and I suppose I can't really check the quality of the DVI cables since there could be very minor damage I won't be able to detect... that said, these cables have all worked in the past without issue on these monitors...

I only get the DPLink failure intermittently as you say, so perhaps the adapters are functional... that said I'm still waiting to get that firmeware upgrade on Monday...

One of my issues is though, single monitor seems to have no problem, regardless of adapter... it's when I plug in 2 or all 3 that the problems start..

Also - my machine is not overclocked at all. Underclocked at the moment in fact smile.gif

Edit: You were right, need password for Dual Link firmware update.

 

 

 

Don't have to wait.

 

Just click here instruction manual & firmware updater programs

 

Read thoroughly. Bad flash will render the adapter useless. Also, make sure the firmware needs an update. Otherwise, leave it alone.

Yeah, personally I think that's a really stupid policy... First they make an adapter with a fairly significant technical problem which interferes with normal use... then they sell it for $100... then they issue firmware but they won't give it to you until you call them (I emailed them to no avail as yet) personally...

Sigh.

And yeah to be more specific - it's not underclocked so much as... it's a Corei7 975EE that's brand new - it comes out of the box at 2.4 I think, and you're supposed to bump it (at least) to stock of 3.33... which I haven't done yet... as I don't have any monitors!
