Are you in Hawaii? My sister is stationed there
or is that just an example

No, just an example.

I don't care about politics. Don't get me started on politics, you probably wouldn't like what I have to say about the subject. Besides, I think it's against the rules. wink.gif

Headlines from my friends are usually shared from news webpages, not them posting their opinion. I just click the link if I'm interested and don't have to wade through other stories to get to it.

As for the weather, I check that online too. It's even faster than turning on the weather channel and waiting for 5-10 minutes for them to get to your local area.

In the end, I really don't care about 99% of what they air on the news anyway. Unless it's something that directly effects me or my own, it doesn't matter to me. If it does effect me or my own then I don't need to news to tell me about it. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

The tsunami's were reported almost instantly by the news as it happened if i remember correctly.
The news probably then fed to facebook.
Important headlines can easily be missed if relying on others to post what is important to them.
plus you have to trowel through baby pics and check in status' and the rest of it.

How are HDD prices important? I don't need to know. I already bought my equipment and I'm not going to need any new equipment for a long time.

If I did need new equipment I'd find out real fast what the prices of HDDs are... how does having heard it on the news change the price?

Facebook is what you make it. If you don't like your friends, get rid of them... I don't have those issues. You are trying to argue about something based on your view. Your view is not my view.

I agree it a little silly to get one's news from facebook but no reason to rain on this guys parade. I think the doh.gif smiley was a little much.
