I'm also aware the file size doesn't matter, but as I said above, a high bit-rate and high resolution both increase file size, no?
That's true, but then again I'd say anyone wanting to watch a 40Mbps movie isn't your typical home user either, that aside, as I said above, you might be able to get by that issue by connecting your Apple TV to your router via ethernet.

There is a direct correlation between bitrate and quality... What do you think "bits" are? Higher bitrate means higher quality audio and video...

Lol, anyone wanting to watch a 40Mbit(actually 48Mbit) movie is anyone that wants to watch Blu ray, as this is the exact data rate of BD movies. There isn't a streaming service that I know that gets remotely close to stream BD-quality film.

If you're wanting to watch BD movies or BD-quality movies, then you're not using wi-fi.

However, I'm not sure where this fits into your original point about Apple TV as I wasn't engaged in that argument.

the biggest challenge no service has been able to do is live tv. thats what i mean and want for apple tv. i just subscribe to a couple of channels like amc, discovery channel, mlb, nba, nfl and maybe dream about watching international channels as well like bbc - live. other services like wd tv and tivo just runs an app for hulu or netflix but they don't offer (anyone really) a live tv service where cable/sattelite providers dominate.

and the other problem with most devices is that they dont offer an integrated solution. people want a one stop shop for media and itunes has the potential to pull it off.

Well as far a form factor goes 4:3 is perfect but not for Media. I did not like 16:10 Transformer had. I ended up using it only one direction.

I'm not sure what you mean. In other words, you've been streaming content since 2010?

Not really, no. It'll look just like 1280x720 on the iPad 2's display, except better quality. You'll have black lines above and below, and if you

Where on earth did you get that from? I was being polite. They responded to me as if to say a high bit rate won't increase file size.

Yes, I'm well aware of that.

Of course, but as I said, anyone wanting to stream it over WiFi isn't your average home user and probably is willing to purchase a router good enough to stream that content.

This. Always this.

With 16:10 or 16:9 you get a very tall but skinny device in portrait, and a very wide but short device in landscape. With 4:3 you get a good balance, and the aspect ratio itself is great for books, text books, web browsing, it's good for games, and okay for movies, whereas 16:9 is great for movies, games, but terrible for books, text books, web browsing, etc.
