that all depends on what you have in mind to install into the box. most people buy ATX case when they only need a mATX or smaller

I built my brother a system with the CM Storm Scout awhile back and it's a really great case. My few complaints are it lacks cable management holes (besides the one behind the PSU) and no front USB 3.0 (it's an older case so it only has USB 2.0).

the 300R is a GREAT starter case, it has high airflow and nice layout at an amazing price. the only downside is now window...... i personally cant stand that, so if you are willing to sacrifice that, then the 300R is a solid choice. the Storm Scout by all means was a very nice case, however the hard drive racks will limit your graphics card length to standard ATX size, so no AMD 6990 or ATI 5970 or Nvidia GTX 590 ect... a 560 ti, or a 570 will fit but nothing longer than an ATX motherboard by more than 3/4 of an inch. I personally would have bought the Storm enforcer case or the Antec 1100, but 300R is my recommendation for sure if your not going to use the window.

Thanks, I look forward to getting my 300r, I nabbed a pretty good deal at $76+free shipping+no tax. I for one don't like having windows on my pc. I myay be weird, but I prefer to think of it as a majic box. A window takes away the creativity.... I am crazy wheee.gif

If you plan on taking it anywhere (frequently), I'd recommend it over most of the other cases recommended. Simply add some foam to the handle and it's super easy to carry around. I've used other cases here and there and end up always coming back to my scout. Although, I am really liking the bigger Storm Trooper. Me thinks there is an upgrade in the near future.
