Problems restarting and shutting down my machine; now also cold boot issues.

I ran into a problem with my current system which is on the P67 platform running Win7 64 bit. I rarely restart or shut it down which explains why I hadn't seen this before.

Basically when I go through the start menu and click 'Shut down' the system will shut itself down, but after being off for about 2 seconds it starts on its own again. Also whenever I click 'Restart' through the start menu the system will shut down, and pressing the power button will not turn the system on. I have to cut power and unplug the system and plug it back in, wait a few seconds, then press the power button and it comes on fine.

I have looked this up and have found people having similar issues. I don't remember having this problem early on right after I built the system but it seems like it developed sometime between then and now. I am not sure whether it is a problem with the MB, OS, or maybe an issue with overclocking or a BIOS setting... however I guess it isn't a major issue but rather just an annoyance. I just worry that there is a deeper problem that is the root cause of this strange behavior so I was curios if anyone knew anything about it.

if you have overclocked it maybe you should put it back to normal settings.

i believe if the cpu has high voltage or temp it will randomly turn itself off or have those kind of problems.

I went to go restore everything to stock settings but noticed it already was. I think when I updated my BIOS a few months back to fix this issue I forgot to re-enable my OC profile so it has been stock ever since then. So I have no OC and a recent BIOS yet neither of those things were the culprit as I still have the issue obviously. I am not really sure where to go from here.

Anyone have ideas other than the overclock? Seeing as I have been running at stock settings that can't be the problem.

Is this just something wrong with the first generation P67 boards and I have to live with it? Or is it something I can fix.

In addition to the issues I mentioned above I now have an additional issue that arises when I cold boot the machine. This started about a few weeks ago after I cleaned all the dust out of it like I have done in the past with no problems. After trying to start it up after blowing the dust out though I had strange issues... like the power LED would strobe as well as all the LED fans and you could hear it was like stuttering on and off. When this happened for the first time I thought I permanently damaged something when I was cleaning it but I cycled the power button a few more times and eventually it came on fine. Ever since then I have to cycle the power button several times to get the machine to start up. Once it's up though it works fine as if nothing ever happened.
