Steam turned into trash - the DLC problem

Thread Starter
A year ago, it was somewhat pleasant to browse through and pick out what games I'm going to buy. Even tho their UI is kinda horrible, like going to page 5 and click on a game you find interesting, then go back and again having to scroll through 5 pages of slow moving menus.

But that's not so bad. What really disturbs me lately is that once I'm browsing through games, pretty much all I see is "DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC". Ohhh my god, seriously, since some idiot (or a very smart person) thought of DLCs, they have been swarming all over the place.

Was it Dragon Age 2 which released a DLC at the same time as they released the game? Lol, developers are becoming so greedy that they are screaming to be pirated.

Blame the new UI, don't blame steam. It's not their fault their new web developers are incompetent fools with no real idea of simplicity.

Remember when steam looked like this?

And the store looked like this?

Those were the days.

Admittedly, not much has really changed with the store in the last few years, but the layout was much easier to use I completely agree. It made your buying seem almost justified.

And don't even get me started on Steam Wallet and the TF2 store.

It's not often you get to bash Steam with all the Origin hate floating around (which is completely justified because it's terrible and everything it stands for is terrible). Just not often you get to express how the big UI change of Steam sort of made it worse for us. With all that said, I love Steam, and it's the only DDL manager I'll ever use for games.
