need promo code EMCNHHB34

pretty good power supple, although some people complain the fan rattles or coil whine. Seems to be a pot luck thing though.

for 17$ this thing will run any old rig that doesnt have extreme graphics and even some new ones with lower end graphics. Perfect for any HTPC without a doubt.

Picked up 2 myself. smile.gif

also beware antecs rebates are among the slowest, although pretty reliable.

Good deal!

Very good deal. I've ran this PSU on 6 office computer builds ranging from Pentium G840s to i5 2400s. Havent had a single issue. I would say it even has enough power for a decent GPU, definately a 6870, maybe a 6950.

You mean Corsair rebates right? So far I'm 3/3 on Corsair rebates so thumbs up for that. But this power supply is a whining pig. I've bought two during separate sales (Newegg has a sale on this PSUevery month, at least) and both whine. One is so loud you can hear it from the hallway with the door closed and god forbid you have to spend time in that room because it's as loud as a mosquito next to your ear. I'm thinking of taking it apart one of these days and trying to fix it on my own with the help of google. Buy at your own risk. The cost of RMAing it would approach its AR cost.

I bet it's manufactured cheaply with low quality components. Why else would it be on sale so often? And why else is this whine present in a significant percentage of the units, while the ~10 other PSUs I've bought are quiet? Someone with more knowledge of the industry/supply chain please enlighten me.

Sorry, I just get so frustrated with this particular PSU. My other Corsairs, my Earthwatts, my Kingwin's, my OCZ Modstream... no problems at all. But this... THIS!!! Say only 1 out of 100 units coming out of the factory whines. I guess I'm just the lucky person who won the 1/10,000 chance of receiving two whiny ones.

Corsair psus are known to whine a lot. My AX750 whines when there's no load, (scrolling up and down web pages makes a song), it only stops when I put about 500w of load on it...

I have 2 of the v1 and 1 v2 (which this one is).
No problems with either v1, but my v2 has a very loud fan after about 2 months of use in my HTPC. I ended up taking it out and using a 5 year old Earthwatts I have.

I have been hearing lots of noise issues with these v2 (both fan and coil), so if you buy one, just be aware of that.
Mine is now my spare/test PSU.

I also have never had an issue with Corsair rebates.

I used 3 of these in previous builds. Two of them were perfectly fine but the other had a terrible whine. Each of the 3 I bought had a rebate and I received all of them.

I have used 2 of these for office builds and both of them run flawlessly, picking up a third for backup.
