Its pretty much a preorder for when they get more in. Estimated time is near the end of march.

Thanks. Unfortunately they won't show me how much shipping is until I place my order so there's no way I'll blindly pay for international shipping.

Versus the cheapest current deal schools are getting from Apple, Dell, HP, or others?
Yeah. Kind of a big deal.
Rock on guys. thumb.gif

That is exactly the reason it was created. People were sick of schools only teaching MS office in IT class, so they thought of the 2nd gen BBC micro to try and get kids more involved.

Personally, i want 2 for cheap HTPCs when XBMC is ported to run on ARM.

Holy crap, yes. I want to buy one just to show it to the tech teachers there. Knowing the public school system, though, new urinals will be of more importance then learning tools for children.

Im in my programming class learning Flash. Yes, flash. I asked to switch to somthing a little more modern like...lets say... hmmm.... this little thing called HTML 5?!?! The reply I got was "Nope, the school system wants you to learn Flash, so you have to learn Flash." I have bets on flash getting phased out before the school year ends biggrin.gif

Yeah that's the video that made me want it too. But there's no real release of that yet, that's just a member of the xmbc development team playing with a pi.

It won't be long though. Muhahaha.

Indeed I want it just to screw around with, then when I'm done having my fun it will become my media center.

I just wish they could remove the digital audio and add wifi. Sure you can use a usb wifi chip, but then that is a whole different beast trying to get it to function properly. I might even say lose the ethernet for wifi also

I am not really sure what the benefit of the Model A will be though. Sure it is $10 dollar cheaper, but without internet access you might as well not use it. IMHO
