I know this thread is old I Just thought I would add some info -

Asrock 4CoreN73PV-HD720p R1.0
DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 2,400 MHz (9 x 266)
2Gb DDR2 4200 533 (266)
Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce GT 220

I have overclocked the E6600 to 3,000 mhz (9 x 333) using the stock fan and only having idle temps of 34, 27-30 per core

i got a e6600 and just hit 3.8ghz stable. even did a stress test and full laod i was 51c and idle at 42c... i have my v-core at 1.51 and fsb at 1695 giving me 3.8ghz. i have air cooling and its doin just fine. i also overclocked my ram witch is stock at 677 to 800mhz so it can keep up with the cpu a bit better, i also changed the ram voltage from auto to 2.13... im almost tempted to do 4.0ghz now lol... this cpu overclocks no easy and stable...

im using the asus p5n-e sli motherboard with updated bios.. if i hit 4.0ghz stable witch seems very possible with this cpu ill post my settings and confirm it a success... peace

ok i couldnt hold back, so i still have all the same settings is the 3.8ghz at 1695 fsb, 1.5 vcore and 2.3 ram volts at 900mhz... i decided to drop the multiplier from 9 to 8 and i was able to achive a crazy bus at 1935 at 3.8ghz instead of 1695 at 3.8ghz.. i basicly have the same clock speed only dropping the multiplier gave me a much larger fsb stable... so if you want a higher fsb and juicier OC drop your multipier from 9 to 8.... oh i also have a 41c idle at 48 load now..4.0ghz is still in sight, just need more vcore i think?
