Can anyone help me out with this?
cpu: FX-6100 @ 4.5ghz

Impending BullDozer joke incoming...

I pretty much agree with everyone else on this. The interface is not made to be mouse/kb friendly and that's obvious. They need to provide an option to disable it so the average desktop user can actually use their machine. This is just a preview though and that option may actually be in the final product, who knows.

I was tired as balls last night but after a quick round of BF3 it seems to run smoother/faster. I was able to increase my quality settings without taking a performance hit compared to my 7 partition. Obviously this needs in depth testing but initial impressions on performance are good.

Giving it a try, so far things I'm trying to understand:

Forced full screen mode when switching tasks, is it just me or how do you say get a browser / video (the built in player) in a side/side view, or even in the same screen.

I just don't get why you'd want to go full screen start menu (metro) when loading a new program? Seems to break workflow. I want to launch a small app, so I have to stop what I was doing to go to metro to load the next program? Just feels weird.

I can't figure out how to close these full screen apps, and never was on to like "popping" bars out of the sides.

Going to try and use it for the day, but so far I feel lost in my own neighborhood.

Oh, forgot this... holy cow they are really pouring the Microsoft services on thick. All these app's seem to tie to M$ products, wasn't it not so long ago they just got crap for having IE too involved in their OS? Is there going to be a swap that makes all those same apps use Google products, etc?

Any clue how to uninstall this ?

I want to cancel dual boot.

EDIT : Never mind , I uninstalled it through EasyBCD then I formatted the disk.

just done testing it with my spare pc. intel c2d e6850, asus p5qpl-am, 2x1gb corsair xms, and unknown brand nvidia geforce 8500gt 256mb. so far it work smooth in an old system.browse some stuff, play pinball lol, and not yet browsing since it isn't connect to any internet I'll try later.

the things I felt different is the start menu which they make more like nowadays smart phone. something bother me is I never know how to close apps lol. like the pinball game I don't lnow how to quit it properly it seems I can't find the exit button lol. and when I open setting window it also the same. I can't find "x" on any edge of the window. lol prolly its me that not quite common with it. but overal it is nice for me.

Stupid thing won't even install if RAID is enabled in the BIOS. It only installs in AHCI mode. In RAID it keeps saying that it cannot detect any usable drives and/or partitions even though the setup actually sees them. Also, the corner gestures/hover access sucks. This OS is not mouse and keyboard friendly at all and it desperately needs a way of getting the more "classic" UI back.

Having said that, I like the ribbon additions and the overall more snappy performance when compared to Windows 7.

For the metro apps, you have to hover your mouse up to the top. Cursor will change to the hand thingy. Then drag it to the middle. it will kinda snap but dragging it further will close the app. I find the metro apps useless for desktop use yet very neat if you have a touch screen. Another suggestion i have is the option to make the desktop the default screen on boot up.
As for the start button. Its pretty much ok. Its almost in the same place as it was in 7. Boot up is surpisingly fast. I was kind of suprised.

I installed it as a 2nd OS on my RAID 0 array. It recognized the Intel RAID controller right off the bat. What controller are you using?

After exploring Windows 8 for an hour, my reactions were basically, "Oh, that's cool. Oh, that sucks. Oh, that's cool. Oh, that sucks...etc., etc., etc." Some good and some bad. I like it from a pure user standpoint, but don't like it from an admin standpoint. I don't like getting kicked back out to Start or desktop, I want all programs, and I want a start key that brings them up instead of having to navigate so much screen real estate.
