I will be purchasing a new case today and just wanted to see what you guys think about this match-up.

I've read a ton of reviews and there are no major problems at all with the Phantom 410. In fact it seems to outperform the 500R in many ways. Very good airflow, tons of room to work inside, and great cable management. Case looks great in my opinion. Also it has a small window but the 500R does not have a window.

There are a few issues that I have read about regarding the 500R: The area where you tuck SATA cables going into your hard drives is very tight and it could be difficult to get the right side panel back on. The fan's move very little air, so I would have to pay extra to get more fans as well. I have seen the 400R, and the front intakes on that were pretty bad, and I am assuming they are the same fans. The NZXT Phantom (the full tower version, I haven't seen the 410 yet) had very good stock fans when I built a PC for a friend using that case. Also, the included fans have strange connectors, meaning that you can only plug them into the included fan controller, not your motherboard. The same goes with the fan controller in that it will only accept stock 500R corsair fans. This means that if the fans or fan controller die you have to purchase new fans for the unit.

The only small issue I have heard with the Phantom 410 is that when the fan controller is at medium there is a high pitched whine, but at low and high the fan controller works fine. According to NZXT forums, NZXT is shipping replacement fan controllers to anyone who wants the whine fixed for free.

So what do you guys personally think about this match-up? I'll be ordering one of them tonight.

500R is an awesome case with excellent air flow. NZXT 410 is nice to not sure how it does with airflow. Either way you go you'll be a happy person.

Phantom 410 outperforms it in the majority of online reviews in terms of GPU cooling if I remember correctly.

Anyone else have any input before I place my order on the Phantom 410?
