I am sorry but in the current climate of corporations over the last 10 years CEOs pay as a percentage compared to the average employee of companies they run has gone up so drastically its absurd.

I get a CEO's job is hard... but it doesn't give you the right to make literally 1000 times more than your average employee.

I think 100 times more than the lowest paid full time employee in the company is a fair wage scale for CEOs. Thats why I went to work in govt. Not because I support the govt but because as frightening as this is to say Governments at this point in history are actually less greedy and evil than corporations.



I'd bet a months salary that the people they laid off were customer service people who actually spoke english natively.

I don't understand why people think companies are obligated to create jobs for them. Make your own living like many people have, if not, then you have to do what the guy giving you the money says.

And I find it easy to believe Blizzard was overstaffed, I have worked at an overstaffed business and thought it was ridiculous.

working in the govt means you're guaranteed certain benefits.
if you really wish to lay out your benefits compared to someone working in the same position in the private sector, i bet you that you'll find you have more benefits guaranteed to you than the other person.

And also would you give your salary back? How much more do you make than the lowest person in your company? Do you have excess savings every paycheck?

Seriously, why do you have the right to dictate how much a company pays someone?

FYI the average yearly compensation of the Fortune500 company's CEOs (and these are massive multi-billion dollar revenue companies like IBM and Microsoft) is 6.6m USD, which is almost exactly the 100x target figure you said would be more reasonable assuming a base salary of about 50k.

ahh yes lay off 600 but have enough money to buy giant statues of orcs riding wolves? im pretty sure most of the staff they layed off was probably customer service anyways...not like it was easy to contact them anyways....the one and only time i was on the phone with them regarding my account, it took 2 hours to get someone on the phone and 3 days to unlock my account...

That seems completely at odds with many of the recent studies on the issue. Also keep in mind that most of those companies pay much more in total compenstion through stocks
