And also would you give your salary back? How much more do you make than the lowest person in your company? Do you have excess savings every paycheck?
Seriously, why do you have the right to dictate how much a company pays someone?

15% of my check is put into savings. Automatically before I do anything else it goes to an IRA. By the time that is full the rest pays off student loans and bills. I think you'd find that I'd actually have made more in the private sector. I don't work for the FEDERAL govt. I work for the state. There is quite a bit of difference. The states aren't as wasteful (except california and New york) as the feds are when it comes to worker pay. The lowest person in my "company" (the state) makes about 22000 a year (clerks at the offices) The highest paid person for my company (the state) makes 5,161,000 his name is Mack Brown and he is the football coach for University of Texas.

That isn't even REMOTELY true. I said the lowest paid full time employee.

Well of course! 2 hours is reasonable. They didn't need those customer service people they already got your money! :-)

For those of you that want a REALLY good read about Blizzard's merge with Activision and Bobby Kotick's motives, here is the link.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=128252

I learned a heck of a lot from it. And I sincerely wish Mike Morhaime never had that dinner with Bobby frown.gif

They lost close too 2 million subs last year. Do the math, they had to let some people go. These are business people and I bet you all there forcasts tell them they're going to continue to lose subs, maybe not at the rate of last year but its going to happen. Mists will probably be a stop gap but I doubt it will see the total sales of previous expacs and thats still just shy of year off?. I am not saying WoW is dead or anything but I think all should see its on the decline and not necessarily at the fault of Blizz like some people believe. It's old, and no matter how good a game is it eventually gets old, how many of you would continue to pay over $100 a year to play your favorite game from almost 8 or hell 4 years ago? They're next MMO is not for another couple years atleasty(not counting diablo III which is close to an MMO). It was time to let some people go, which does suck but it\s how it works.

Maybe you should review how much money this company is PROFITING.

source

I don't know of many companies that have only 4000 workers in their workforce profiting 2 billion dollars a year. PROFITING 2 billion dollars a year. The revenue for Q1 2011 was 1.3 BILLION dollars.

Interestingly, Call of Duty Elite, the premium subscription service, appears to be doing well for Activision too. It has 1.5 million people paying for the service.

Corporations are in business to make money. It is there job to do what is necessary to make as much money as possible, for the least amount of expense. Blizzard is doing its job. They are also allowed to pay their employees whatever they want to pay them, from CEO to part-time mail room clerk. If Blizzard employees don't like it, they should seek other employment. If you don't like it, do not purchase their products.

Just don't whine and complain on the internet about "fairness".

Life isn't fair, and if you think it should be: Get one of these

Do you have a point here? Closed mouths don't get fed. If you don't work to improve your situation in life then no one else will, but according to you I should just accept my plot in life and take what the corporate masters give me? Lol no.

Besides, if corporations are ALL about profit for the sake of profit, can you tell me why they overpay executives so much? Why is firing hard working people justified but somehow challenging the executive payscale is 'class warfare'?! I could even understand executive compensation IF they shared any sense of responsibility but they get golden parachutes whether they succeed or fail and they get other executive jobs whether they succeed or fail. It seems to be a constant double standard.

Its like the banking industry. How can you simultaneously claim that you're firing thousands for the sake of corporate profitability then turn around and give hundreds of millions out in executive bonuses DESPITE ruining the company?!

How many people does Blizzard employ? Thousands? Probably enough to where 600 isn't a crazy amount. As others said it's nice to know it's not the game devs and it's just other departments. Also as others said, they've rehired in other areas so "adjusting" seems perfectly fine when your company is as large as theirs.
