FX-8120 on Gigabyte 970a-ud3 Overclock Help

So far I have been unable to overclock, I did manage to downclock to 2300 but I don't know how I managed that one. I read alot of the forum post but I can't seem to find something that works right with me. I have cranked up the CPU volt to 1.48 on an aftermarket cooler and changed the freq to 3800 but when I save bios my pc turns off and wont bring the monitor back up to show anything. Can someone give me exactly what I need to change to get this thing up around 4 ghz?

Disable Core Performance Boost first save and reboot.

FX 8120 Overclock 4GHz

CPU Clock Ratio: x20 4000MHz

Once turbo core is disabled all you should have to do is raise the multiplier to 4GHz. Should be able to hit 4 with voltage bump around 1.25v-1.3v

Voltages : Manual

Load Line Control: Extreme (This helps with Vdroop)
AMD C1E Support: Disabled
Virtualization: Disabled
Cool & Quiet: Disabled

Disable everything under PC Health Status.

Set your RAM speed and timings manually to stock. (Don't let the bios auto config.)

Make sure you use a temp monitor program and keep load temps below 60c.

Bulldozer gets no real performance gains by raising the Northbridge and HT clocks so leaving them stock is fine.

If you want to overclock the NB...

2600MHz

CPU NB Vid: 1.3v

Ok I did what you said in the original post and got up to 4ghz but experienced stability issues, such as my freeze ups and bsod in stability testing. I now see the revisions in the post and will make those changes after i get off work. Im getting the 4ghz on stock voltage but i think I need to up that but I am worried about my cpu getting to hot when loaded. Other than that thanks for the help.

Sorry to highjack this thread, but can you tell me how to get the cpu core speed up to 233MHz. I get to about 220MHz and start to get bsod.

I already tried 4.4 @ 1.4v and bumped to 1.425v with multiplier only and core 5 keeps failing no matter what I do.

ps how do you get you rig to show up in sig? I tried making one, but it doesn't show up for me.

Hi guys, I have this mobo with an FX-4100, and the same troubles as you, well many time trying Overclock my system and all the times Blues screen appears, till i read this thread and down the FSB from 225 to 220 and works fine, for me, almost incredible.
