And ditch the RAM's..

By mobile market, do you mean things like laptops/ultrabooks?

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire -02/29/12)- AMD (NYSE: AMD - News) today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire SeaMicro, a pioneer in energy-efficient, high-bandwidth microservers, for approximately $334 million, of which approximately $281 million will be paid in cash.
That is a lot better deal than ATi was

I know :-( I could only imagine where AMD would be right now if they had gotten ATI for what it was worth ($1,000,000,000 less)

In being bought by AMD, SeaMicro's overhead is reduced by virtue of their gaining to the AMD's pre-existing assets and established partners. Fewer middle-men to deal with!

It's probably never going to be a terribly high-volume market--probably pocket change to the likes of Dell, HP, or Intel--but it seems like something useful for AMD to own and try to grow.

AMD should have gone through with the Nvidia acquisition it was cheaper and JHH so far has been A LOT better than Hector Ruiz

Shockingly they have been making profits since 2010... This latest quarter was because they had to pay GloFo money thus they lost some money but not all of it

Yeah... at least a bunch of the good guys at ATI have had steady jobs. Not quite sure if that is worth what they gave up though lol

They are planning to evolve x86 again but it is probably just going to be an extension of x64 and not x128 but that is for another day
