Freaking Out!

Thread Starter
I have a crappy foxxcon mobo that is hust crap and the the RMA window is closing fast! I need to upgrade my mobo and RAM but i need to make a decision fast! I have some questions.
1. I am trying to decide between DFI and ASUS becuase I have no experience and I want a good board to learn on while not compromising perfromance.
2. If I go with DFI, should I get the sli dr or the expert? Are there any bugs or prblems I should know about?
3. What PC4000 is best for the DFI mobos? I need 2x1024 and the crucial ballistix looks to be the best but i heard it dies easily. Any recommendations?
4. If I go the ASUS route, ill get th A8N32-SLI, but I have no ide what 2x1024 kits go best with it. Which PC4000 works best with it?
5. Could the asus fit a zalman 9500 cooler?

1) DFI.
2) I'd get the Expert, while the regular LanPartys are certainly not slackers in the options department, the Expert takes it to a whole new expert.
3) G.Skill HZs.
4) See above.
5) Yes.

#4) OCZ DDR2-667 RAM works fine. ASUS makes a great board. Solid BIOS. Get the deluxe if you can.
#5) Should be fine with an air cooler. Even if you use the deluxe ASUS model.

Id go DFI, I just ordered the SLI-DR Expert because my ASUS board seems to be giving out, fan header died, random freezes, etc... The zalman 9500 will fit on the ASUS or the DFI

I love my DFI board. The G.Skill 550 HZ are a solid choice and very well priced.

I know this probably sounds weird, but the Foxconn C51XEM2AA-8EKRS2H is a great mobo, it sports the 590 SLI chipset.
