New to Intel Guessing this is good? 2600k 4.8 on Air

Thread Starter
Got my Intel rig running last week but had some compatibility issues with the ram. Got my new ram today and started to continue my overclock.

So far I have gotten to 4.8 @ 1.365v << going to tinker with this and see if I can get it a touch lower. I'm thinking that I should be able to get 4.9 5.0 even on air stable. I may not run it like that 24/7. 4.6 4.8 i'll be happy with but benchmarks I can push it a bit. HT is Enabled.
All specs are in my sig rig

This is what I got so far thumb.gif

Wow, that's amazing...

Great temps and low voltage. Looks like you've got a really nice chip there

Looks pretty good, try running Prime for a little longer, aim for 12hours. Also just a note, if you want LinX to fully stress the overclock, download the latest version from HERE and also be sure to have SP1 (service pack 1) installed. Just a word of warning, the temps will be higher with the new LinX (because of AVX instructions).

EDIT:

As you have 8GB, try a custom Blend run with 6.5gb RAM usage, it'll stress the RAM, CPU and IMC.

yea at least 12 hours is needed to see if its actually stable. i had my 2500k at 4.8 on air (albeit with more more voltage then that) and it would last for 2 hours in prime95 blend then it would BS. didnt feel comfortable adding more so i left it at 4.5 tongue.gif if it lasts for 12 hours on prime you know its legit.
