Uh, no. You actually get to run at 120fps. On a 60hz, you're only get 60fps.

Nope
60hz monitor vsync = 60fps max no tearing
120hz monitor vsync = 120fps max no tearing

Saizer, you sir, obviously have never gamed at a true 120hz/120fps, as you are 100% wrong. Cheers!

I certainly love mine. But if you aren't ready to have hardware that can push 120FPS on modern games, there's little benefit.

you will need quite the GPU setup (i.e. tri/quad 7970s) to even get close to 120fps on 1440/1600p in a modern game like bf3.

I believe LG is making a 2560x1440 ips screen with 120hz capability. Probably will cost like 2 grand though.

also, only displayport can even display 120hz @ 1440p, and seeing how only right now nvidia GPUs (6 series) comes with standard DP, it's still a long way off.

I thought all modern video cards have a display port? or mini display port? but they support the same resolutions

AMD adopted dp before nvidia did. Nvidia only has DP as a standard/reference starting from 6 series. The 5 series with DP/Mini DP are non-reference.

Sorry in my previous post I just assumed everyone knew AMD had DP for a long time, and only outlined the Nvidia exception.
